Handwritten letter and envelope from Phebe Judkins. She is writing to his son,William "Willie" Judkins, who is serving with the 48th Regiment, Indiana Volunteer. William mustered in in Oct 1861. The letter mentions that his regiment will be marching out and that his father is coming to camp to give him supplies. Phebe also mentions that there will be a donation party.
His sister Mima writes a note at the bottom of the page. She mentions that their father has bought a pistol for him.
