Handwritten letter from William "Willie" Judkins, who is serving with the 48th Regiment, Indiana Volunteer. William mustered in in Oct 1861. He is writing to his parents and younger sister.
He describes his journey from Goshen, Indiana to Paducah, Kentucky. He also describes his stay in Paducah and mentions the other regiments that he encounters during his time there. He finishes the letter with well wishes to those at home and he asked for some items to be sent to him.
